Live through this- No more crying (14)

Bell hooks is a successful writer focusing on gender and race. Her story tells of a tormented upbringing, with  a family that did not understand her. Often called crazy or weak for her emotional outcries, discussing the effects of truma and how it is seen in modern times. it also talks about how faith brings her comfort and how her grandfather said it was ok to 'mourn.' she talks about 'soul murder' where people just get brushed away for being whom they are. She talks about how children are taught to supress emotions which leaves them numb, this often leads to the feeling of wanting death or wanting, needing to feels something, anything.
